Pop-Up Sparks Fly in the Smithsonian’s Spark Lab

It was a busy day at the Smithsonian Institution’s Spark Lab on Saturday, with kids and their parents inventing their own pop-ups in two workshop sessions. Talking animals, historic figures, and Valentine’s Day hearts were some of the subjects that these young paper engineers explored. Sponsored by the Smithsonian Institution Libraries, the workshops were held in conjunction with the current exhibition Paper Engineering: Fold, Pull, Pop and Turn. I’ll be conducting two more workshops on February 26th at 11:30 am and 2 pm, again at the Spark Lab in the National Museum of American History.
